If you weren’t already aware, Tarell Alvin McCraney is the talented screenwriter who wrote, In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue, which was adapted into the award-winning movie Moonlight. Tarell is now in the works with Walt Disney Pictures to create a new live-action musical. According to Deadline.com the movie is set to be called, Cyrano the Moor, which will star none other than the talented thespian, David Oyelowo. Cyrano the Moor is speculated to be inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand and Othello by Shakespeare, which is especially fitting since Oyelowo previously played the role of Othello on stage earlier this year. Production will also be handled by Yoruba Saxon, David, and his wife Jessica Oyelowo’s production company. Let’s see how this all unfolds.
