Ghanaian socks brand, Chale Socks have just released 3 new, exclusive, limited edition styles. Following their highly successful debut collection of Adinkra symbol socks. This new release is set to ignite the fashion world once again with their bold, distinctive designs.
Chale Socks comes from the mind of Ghanaian born designer, Kurtis Kudjo. The line was created in 2015 when Kudjo realized that as Africans, our daily style does not accurately reflect our African culture. The debut collection featured seven bold, Adinkra symbol inspired styles. In 2016, the collection was also featured on the catwalk at Accra Men’s Fashion Week.
“Chale Socks’ aim is to protect, and maintain the originality of African culture and symbolism by creating distinctive, contemporary art for the feet.”
“We didn’t just want to create a sock brand that focused on idol patterns. We wanted to utilize our creative ideas to encourage inquiry into the meaning and significance of African motifs.” -Kurtis Kudjo
“In Africa we find creative ways to survive. Push through, we hustle, essentially, life is art. With our feet, we walk, we march, we stand strong, we move forward. When you wear Chale Socks, we want you to look down at your feet and feel inspired and motivated to create. Whatever your craft, push on, walk tall. Be bold, dream big, create daily, and wear your art on your feet” – Kurtis Kudjo
The new, limited edition pieces can be purchased from the Chale Socks website, with more exciting collections to come in 2017 and beyond
