Last year, French-Senegalese model Khoudia Diop opened up about her experience with being severely bullied because of her complexion. Although she faced bullying both when she grew up and online, Diop was able to turn a negative into a positive. “As I grew, I learned to love myself more every day, and not pay attention to the negative people. If you’re lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change.”

Recently, Diop has landed a major beauty campaign in Make Up For Ever’s #BlendInStandOut initiative, which is a step forward in representation. The campaign features an array of other ethnically diverse models and influencers such as Arshia Moorjani and Jessica Wang. In the ad, viewers are posed the question, “What do you stand for?”
